Thirty one year old Stirling Osland was a regular visitor to the winner’s circle on NSW country tracks in the first month of the new year. He won six races which included two doubles, one at Armidale and the other at Inverell on Cup day. His wins were supplied by Golden Point (2), Chain Of Lightning (2), Superdeel and Kingston Bullet.
Stirling spent his early years as a yearling breaker but gradually phased into the training ranks. He’s based on the Armidale racecourse where he works a team of 18 to 22 horses. He races mostly on north western tracks but knows when it’s time to take them to town. He’s already won three TAB HIghways with Prada Miss, Radiant Choice and Point Counterpoint. Early in January he went close to another Highway when Golden Point was nabbed in the last few strides by Zoo Station.
As the winner of this month’s award, Stirling will soon receive twelve complimentary bags of the Hygain/Mitavite product of his choice.
