Steve Hart stumbled upon this one on his database the other day and was kind enough to send it to me.

Steve snapped this photo around 1986 and it shows Neville Begg, then in his mid fifties with a lovely little mare called Heat Of The Moment.

The daughter of Blazing Saddles was bred and raced by the late Ross Cribb, long time Chairman of the NSW TAB and founder of the Jay R Stud at Tahmoor.

Heat Of The moment was almost certainly the best horse to carry the colours of the highly respected owner/breeder.

Neville Begg won six races with the genuine mare, including the 1986 Gr 1 George Ryder Stakes and the Gr 1 Chipping Norton Stakes in the same year. She also won a Gr 2 Wakeful Stakes and a Gr 3 Roman Consul Stakes.

She was very good in defeat when third to Hula Chief in the 1986 Doncaster and second to Shankhill Lass in the 1985 Thousand Guineas.

Neville Begg was renowned as a trainer of fillies and mares. Heat of the Moment was among his favourites.
