It’s a rare occasion when a trainer is able to win with every horse he or she saddles up at a single race meeting. Scott Collings came away from the Snake Gully Cup meeting at Gundagai on November 13th, with a perfect score.
His three runners Extravagent Lad, London Gal and Bombdiggity all won comfortably in Heavy 9 conditions. London Gal posted a winning margin of more than five lengths. Matthew Cahill rode Extravagent Lad, while Amy McLucas was seen at her best on the other two Collings runners.
Scott’s Gundagai treble followed two recent Randwick TAB Highway wins with the promising sprinting mare Ten Bells. The trainer has nine permanent boxes on the Goulburn racecourse, and another thirteen on his twenty seven acre property at the quaintly named Middle Arm near Goulburn. With yards and paddocks available on the property Scott is able to spell and pre train horses when required.
The talented trainer’s Gundagai achievement gives him the Country Trainer’s Award for the month of November. He’ll soon receive twelve complimentary bags of the Hygain/Mitavite product of his choice.
