Nyngan’s Brett Robb was caught on the hop in August of last year when his father Rodney suddenly decided to quit his role as a full time horse trainer. Rodney Robb had won hundreds of races and multiple western trainers premierships over a period of forty years. Young Brett or “Snow” as he’s universally known grew up in his father’s racing stables at Nyngan, and in more recent years had been full time stable foreman.
Although slightly intimidated by the prospect of going it alone, Brett resolved to carry on where his legendary Dad had left off. A short time later he acquired stables in Dubbo and launched his new career as a professional horse trainer. He has 23.5 winners on the board for the season, with eight of them ticking over in December. At the Dubbo meeting on December 18th Brett won with Knickerbocker Glory, No Debt and Coopella. The hometrack treble assured him of the December Award - twelve bags of the Hygain/Mitavite product of his choice.
