Gavin Carmody gained his early media experience as a producer with major Sydney radio stations 2UE and 2GB. In the latter role he was a member of the big production team behind top rating breakfast show host Alan Jones. Later his inherent passion for racing saw him grab an opportunity to join Sky Racing where he immediately felt very much at home.
Today Gavin is a key member of the Sky Thoroughbred Central trackside presentation team for provincial and country race meetings north of Sydney. He has obvious rapport with co-hosts and the respect of trainers and jockeys. Steve caught up with Gavin recently to learn a little more about his interesting background.
